It used to be extremely difficult to buy left handed golf clubs. This is because it is only recently that manufacturers started catering to the people who are left handed. In years past, left handed people had to custom order their clubs because using ones made for right handed people could send the ball in the opposite direction. It used to be that golf clubs for left handed people were very expensive. The price of left handed clubs has decreased greatly in recent years. Now the rates are comparable to those of clubs made for right handed golfers. But where can you find the best deals on these type of clubs? You may also train on a portable exercise bike to help your swing.

Do you know that for the record, there are hundreds of printed versions of rules related to golf? The United States Golf Association (USGA) is actually releasing updated official golf rulebook version every year containing more or less 100 pages of rules that every beginner golfer has to get acquainted with. It is therefore a must for you to buy one as soon as possible. The booklet is pocket-sized, thus you can just carry it around with you while playing on the course.

It is indeed very essential for golf beginners to really update himself with the rules in the USGA booklet. Every detail of the things you need to know along with the essential parts of golf are all written in these booklet.

The main reason why this has to be updated annually is because the game has undergone evolution over the century and rules need amendment from time to time.

Rules, Rules, & Then Some…

Its essential areas are providing reference materials in solving conflicts. The USGA rule booklet does not simply give out information regarding every rule in golf, it also provides some explanations about all else as long as it’s related to the game. With it are golf equipment, specifications on the course, and the like.

Disputes?- Not This Time!

Among the most essential reasons for bringing along a USGA rule booklet is of course to aid in solving disputes and conflicts of interest against other beginning golf players.

Like any other sports, your golf game also entails some forms of debates against your other fellow players. Instead of quareling over the rules, you can just open the official guide and end the conflict right there and then.

If you want to find out more information about the United States Golf Association, you can simply check out usga.org. This is the official website of the USGA and has the complete and up-to-date rulebook, along with some information on the handicap system, tournaments, and a tour of the golf museum.

Pressure is one of the reasons why you can get out of focus when playing golf. There are several reasons for you to feel pressure on the actual game. Among these are your intimidating opponents, lack of skill, inability to prepare for the game, and most of all the score card or the result.

More often than not, the score card or focusing on the result is the main reason why several golfers end up with failure. If it holds true to you, then I bet the best thing that you should do is to forget the score card when playing.

Frequent awareness of scores takes two sides. It can either be beneficial or not. In some cases it can be good given the fact that you can determine where you are at in the game. Moreover, when you have a glmipse of the scors, you are given the determination to even fight harder.

The best golfers use their awareness of score to advantage. During some points, they can immediately think of nice strategies to be employed. There are also those who become tougher and more resilient if they know they are in a close match or are fighting for a good score.

However, this does not hold true to everyone. Experts would prove that when a golfer has an eye always on the score, pressure can mount and this will lead to a poor decision. The focus in now diverted from pre- shot routine plans they have created into on the spot plans which can be disastrous. Instead of being targeted on the goal set prior to the game, the focus is on fixing the score here and now. Sometimes, dependent on the situation this can be a good sign of flexibility and ability to adapt to changes in the game. However, eventually, focusing much on scores serves no good.

Again, golf is not just a physical, but a mental game. Thus, total focus on the mental aspect of the game such as focus must really be given. If focus is lost, everything else follows. For an elite mental approach score cards should really be forgotten. It’s good to look at the score card for updates sometimes. However, if you do it more often, your game becomes more focused on the outcome.

If you’ve read this far you certainly want to improve your golf, you need to develop the understanding that the best players in the world play the game in a process focused manner. They only use the score card or leaderboard when they really need to understand where they’re at in a situation. Keep coming back for more golf mental tips.

People would always have the tendency to pull others down when others are on their way to the top. This is actually called crab mentality or in Australia tall poppy syndrome. Nobody wants others to be ahead of them. Instead, they must find their way ahead all the time. In golf, the same thing holds true. When you have already established yourself in the world of golf, there would really be some people who will find ways for you to be out of the scene. It is fine if these are detractors whom you never knew from the start.

Things would just be painful when you would know that your friends are the ones ruining your game. This is so sad to hear, but it does happen. Those people whom you never expected to have these things done to you are actually the ones who are to do it first. However, when your friends are the ones ruining your game, try to determine first their reason for doing it. From there, you would have the knowledge on what is the next thing that you are to do as well as on how you are going to react. In this article, you will know the reasons why your friends would try to ruin your game. There might be several reasons but at the end of the day, it would boil down to this two.

1.You might also have friends who would also want to share the spotlight with you. In life, you would only strive for success. When you know where you want to see yourself in the future, then you will definitely make moves just to be where you want to be someday. Yet, you forget that your friends also have the same desire as you do. If you have decided to take the same path, then things would just be fine. However, when you are already way ahead, this is where problems arise. These people would really destroy your game so that they would eventually take over. The problem is that you know not when to attack and how they would be doing it. Yet, you don’t have to worry about this. The only thing that matters here is that you know your goal and you won’t allow distractions to hinder you. If you know what to do and you are motivated to achieve it, then you will certainly have it. No matter how they try to pull you down, you will always stay on track.

2. Your friends might be doing the reverse psychology. Things would always come as a surprise to us. You don’t know when things happen as expected or the other way around. If you feel like your friends are ruining your game and you are really in doubt about what they are doing; then think other wise. They might want to help you with what they are doing. They want to pull you down to lift you up. They try to ruin your game for you to be more motivated to continue. They simply want you to learn things the hard way. This might sound weird, but this could possibly be their best way to help you. Thus, if in cases where you find them acting so odd, you might try to take a look at this reason. You would just be surprised that friends will always be friends in spite and despite of everything.

These two reasons might be opposing in nature. However, when instances where friends really pull you down happen; then you just have to learn how to examine them totally. Eventually, whatever is their reasons they have for doing such, at least you hold on to what is good and right only.

Even in golf, you can still learn a lot of values.

learn to stop slicing

There is one thing that drives over 80% of golfers crazy. The filthy slice. For the uninitiated a slice is a shot that starts left of the target and curves violently right for right players. For left hand players it starts right and goes left. There is nothing good about a slice. Both distance and accuracy are affected. The problem is that really only beginner to intermediate level golfers actually slice, due to their inexperience and low level of knowledge they don’t know how to fix them.

Why don’t we begin with why does the ball behave this way?? The two main ball flight laws that determine a slice are clubface and path. The clubface has 83% more effect over the direction of the ball than the path. For all the slicers reading that means that your clubface is open at impact. To make matters worse, because you fear the ball going right you will move your path to the left. This is totally incorrect. Now you have an open face and a path that cuts across the ball. The left to right spin is out of control and you won’t hit a fairway all day.

Earlier I said that the face was 4 times more influential than the path? This is the key to fixing your slice. We need to square up or even close that face. Would you believe that little effort is required to achieve this. In the golf swing the clubface is controlled by the grip and the flexion and extension of the wrists. First we need to check whether you have a neutral grip on the club. If you wear a glove if you have a wear mark on the pad of the hand or the thumb than I can tell you your grip needs fixing.

Firstly the lead hand or top hand. The grip must run diagonally through the fingers from the middle joint on the index finger down to the base of the joint on the little finger, the thumb needs to be softly placed on the right side of the grip, to the left of center. If you have done this you should achieve a vision of 2-3 knuckles showing on the top hand. Now for the right hand, this again must be done more through the fingers basically running through the first joints on all fingers on the right hand. The thumb will be placed on the left side of the grip, just to the left of center. Two other things to check for are light grip pressure and that the left thumb should be covered by the right hand. These steps are vital to correcting a golf clice

It is very difficult to have an open face with the grip shown above. The clubface is king. A Golfer can fix their slice in many ways. This tip attacks a common problem amongst all slicers: the clubface due to the grip.
